Emmetts

Ashton Fox – The new brand name for Emmetts Solicitors Limited.

Ashton Fox is the new name for Emmetts Solicitors who have been trading successfully since 2004.

The new name reflects a change in the scale of the company which is in a phase of sustained growth now operating as a medium sized corporate entity following its inception as a family run firm. The development of our new purpose built offices at Millenium City Business Park, Ribbleton has put us in a strong position to advance our business in the months and years to come. This is an exciting period in the legal industry with the new Alternate Business Structures coming into play via the Legal Services Act and our directors Matthew Stokes and Mary Hunter are delighted with the revamped image.

The opportunity to rebrand the company as Ashton Fox meant that the existing values and strengths could be identified and retained whilst adding a new level of corporate thrust to our public image. It was our aim to create a brand that satisfied all our stakeholders and would inspire our next phase of growth.

It is an exciting time for our directors, staff and clients alike as our brand has been designed to communicate strength, agility, history, intelligence and dynamism. Representing the values previously held, we want to maximise the opportunity to create a unique new brand which will set us apart from our competition, be easily recognisable and give us a vibrant edge to our customers.

The name, Ashton Fox, is derived from two great Lancastrians. Lord Ashton was a great Victorian industrialist, exporting oil cloth and linoleum from the port of Lancaster. He was both well-known and influential in the Lancaster area. George Fox was a founder of the Quakers, respected by Oliver Cromwell and even influenced King Charles II over the release of religious prisoners. These two iconic men have helped to shape the current landscape of Lancashire both physically through the Ashton Memorial in Williamson Park and the George Fox Building at Lancaster University and ideologically through the industrialist heritage and Quaker presence in the area.

The legal profession is steeped in history and we are very respectful of our traditions. At the same time, we embrace modernity and in particular the need for change in order to be at the forefront of the industries with which we work most closely.

Our new name is a key part of our new business. We are proud of our success as individual companies to date and now look forward to a healthy, prosperous future as Ashton Fox.
